Farm Groups Back Marshall as Huelskamp Fights them in DC

Great Bend, KS – Dr. Roger Marshall, Republican candidate for Congress, is continuing to earn further support from the Kansas, and national farming community.  As the Great Bend obstetrician sows seeds of support from around the state, visiting his 45th county Farm Bureau meeting, lifelong politician, Tim Huelskamp, was in Washington calling for deeper cuts to farm programs in the Farm Bill while lecturing that "farm groups were wrong" and that even crop insurance should be on the table to be cut.

"We've driven 25,000 miles visiting with literally thousands of farmers, cattlemen and businessmen in Kansas, and the feeling is unanimous: farmers in Kansas need longterm certainty. For Tim to pull the rug out from farmers halfway through the Farm Bill shows a complete lack of regard for Kansans. His antics in Washington shouldn't surprise anyone - he's been anti-Ag the entire length of his 20-year political career," Marshall said.

"We are proud that Kansas agriculture is rallying to support our campaign," he continued. "Protecting the industry that drives over 50% of the economy in Kansas is priority number one."

Dr. Marshall has added several recent supporters to his growing list of agriculture endorsements:

  • Dairy Farmers of America
  • Grain Sorghum Producers Association
  • Kansas Livestock Association
  • RENEW Kansas

The Kansas Farm Bureau has not yet made any endorsements in the 1st District.
